Basic requirements for foster or adoptive parent:

        *Must be at least 21 years of age,
        *Be financially self-sustaining
        *Be married, single, divorced, or widowed.
        *Attend sessions with other prospective parents to learn about the children's
          needs and background
        *Consent to a criminal and abuse/neglect background check.
        *Participate in a home study.

Some Additional Requirments for Foster Parents:
        *Permit a fire and health inspection of your home.
        *Vaccinate all pets annually
        *Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
        *Have adequate sleeping space
        *Attend 20 hours or more of training each year.

Children in need of Foster/Adoptive care may:
        *Range in age from birth to 17 yrs.
        *Have been born drug exposed.
        *Be a member of any racial or ethnic group.
        *Have a professionally diagnosed physical, mental or emotional disabling condition
        *Have been sexually, emotionally, and physically abused, neglected, or abondoned.
        *Belong to a sibling group that needs to be placed together and, if not placed
          together, must maintain regular visits with each other.
